Undoes the last action. Only the most recent action can be undone.
Clears the chart, resetting the color of all the stitches to colorA where possible.
The edge stitches on even rows must be colorB.
If the chart contains an even number of rows, the final row must be colorB.
highlight:
Select a row from the the dropdown to highlight that row in the chart.
Select the type of chart to display:
garter - knit in garter stitch (back and forth or in the round)
stockinette - knit in stockinette stitch (back and forth or in the round)
crochet (RS only) - crocheted working on the right side of the work only (no turning)
crochet (back and forth) - crocheted working back and forth, turning the work every two rows
columns:
Enter the number of columns to include in the grid for the chart and click [ok]. Each column represents a
stitch.
rows:
Enter the number of rows to include in the grid for the chart and click [ok].
Each row represents a row of knitting or crochet.
For garter and stockinette, only the odd rows are shown in the grid.
For garter, if working back and forth, all even rows are knit across on the wrong side. If working in the round,
all even rows are purled across on the right side.
For stockinette, if working back and forth, all even rows are purled across on the wrong side. If working in the
round, all even rows are knit across on the right side.
For crochet, all rows are shown in the chart. Right side rows are numbered on the right and wrong side rows are
numbered on the left.
edge stitches
When checked the first and last stitches of each row are worked as plain stitches in the color of the row.
mode:
Select the editing mode.
toggle - clicking on a stitch in the chart, toggles the stitch between colorA and colorB. If "shaping" is
checked, the stitch toggles between colorA and "no stitch".
select - if there is no current selection, clicking on a stitch begins a selection, otherwise, clicking on a
stitch changes the end of the range of selected stitches and displays the selection menu.
fill - clicking on a stitch fills the area that includes the stitch with the opposite color. When filling colorB
with colorA, the edges of the area are left in colorB.
shaping
Checking this checkbox allows shaping to be defined in the chart by setting a stitch to "no stitch" to designate
an increase or decrease.
An increase will have a "no stitch" below it and a decrease will have a "no stitch" above it.
fit to:
Enter the number of rows or columns to fit the image inside of and select whether the number is the number of
rows or the number of columns.
Select the file that contains the image to import. Select a simple, high contrast image in jpg, png, or gif
format.
Click [import] to import the image. The image will overwrite the existing chart, by default.
Select "import to clipboard" to leave the existing chart in place and import the image to the clipboard.
Once the "imported" message appears, select an area on the chart and choose a paste option to place the imported
image
onto the existing chart.
text:
kern:
How many stitches to leave between letters in a word. Defaults to 1.
Click [import] to import the text. The text will overwrite the existing chart, by default.
Select "import to clipboard" to leave the existing chart in place and import the text to the clipboard.
Once the "imported" message appears, select an area on the chart and choose a paste option to place the imported
text
onto the existing chart.
font instructions:
Click [import] to import your own font. The imported font will overwrite the existing font.
Click [reset] to reset the font to the built-in font.
Cancels the current selection and allows a new selection to be started.
Draws the specified shape within the currently selected range in colorB.
If "shaping" is checked, draws the shape in "no stitches".
line | - draws a vertical line along the left edge of the selected range.
line _ - draws a horizontal line along the bottom edge of the selected range.
line / - draws a right leaning diagonal line across the selected range.
line \ - draws a left leaning diagonal line across the selected range.
rectangle - draws a rectangle the size of the selected range.
circle - draws a circle in the center of the selected range, sized to fit the range.
When a cut/copy option is selected from the dropdown
the currently selected cells are saved to the clipboard.
If cut is selected, the currently selected cells are reset to colorA.
Click to replace a letter in the current font with the selected cells.
When a paste option is selected from the dropdown
the cells saved in the clipboard are pasted into the currently selected cells
based on the paste option selected:
left/top - the left/top of the pasted cells match the left/top of the currently selected cells
bottom/right - the bottom/right of the pasted cells match the bottom/right of the currently selected cells
center - the center of the pasted cells match the center of the currently selected cells
fill - the left/top of the pasted cells match the left/top of the currently selected cells
and the pasted cells repeat horizontally and vertically to fill the currently selected cells
flip horizontal - the left/top of the pasted cells match the left/top of the currently selected cells
and the pasted cells are flipped horizontally
flip vertical - the left/top of the pasted cells match the left/top of the currently selected cells
and the pasted cells are flipped vertically
setup preview
shape:
Determines the shape of the preview that appears below.
as charted - the shape of the preview matches the shape in the chart.
square - in the preview, the shape in the chart is repeated/rotated 4 times to form a square.
hexagon - in the preview, the shape in the chart is repeated/rotated 6 times to form a hexagon.
reverse colors
When this checkbox is checked, the colors in the preview are reversed.
colorA is shown as the dark color and colorB is shown as the light color.
tile
When this checkbox is checked, the preview shape is shown tiled
repeated 3 times vertically and 3 times horizontally.
instructions
Click [import] to import the instructions. The instructions will overwrite the existing chart, by default.
Select "import to clipboard" to leave the existing chart in place and import the instructions to the
clipboard.
Once the "imported" message appears, select an area on the chart and choose a paste option to place the imported
instructions
onto the existing chart.
